Memorial University of Newfoundland (The Marine Institute)
Graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Technology are eligible to apply to Memorial’s Bachelor of Technology. The BTech is a full-length undergraduate program consisting of a technical component and a component intended to provide a broad societal context for the technology, as well as business related skills and knowledge. The program includes thirteen courses (39 credit hours) which are available through distance delivery using internet-based technology. NAIT
Graduates of a recognized two-year technology diploma, with a minimum GPA of 2.7, are eligible to apply to NAIT’s Bachelor of Technology in Technology Management (Btech-TM). The BTech-TM offers diploma graduates the opportunity to earn a recognized baccalaureate degree with two additional years of study. This degree bridges the gap between technologists and management; students will build upon their strong technical backgrounds by adding the leadership and critical thinking skills needed to take on management and supervisory roles. SAIT
Graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Technology program are eligible to apply for admission into the Technology Infrastructure Analyst post-diploma certificate. All applicants must satisfy the selection requirements of the program. The 32-week certificate bridges the gap between technical and business teams, including an 8-week industry practicum. A two-year diploma from a recognized Canadian college, technical institute or equivalent, or successful completion of two years at a recognized post secondary academic institution. Thompson Rivers University
Upon an applicant’s admission, Thompson Rivers University-Open Learning determines the number of credits attributable to this program from the applicant’s technology diploma. Admission requirements are a Provincial Grade 12 diploma or approved equivalent and a recognized diploma of technology or equivalent. Students with this technology diploma are granted a maximum of 57 transfer credits toward the 120 credits required to complete the degree. Students are expected to have university-level writing skills upon entry into this program. Writing skills will be assessed during the admission process. Those who do not have university-level writing skills should enroll in an introductory first-year English composition course. If additional lower-level credits are required to meet program requirements, a wide variety of courses are available. Graduates of the Bachelor of Technology program also have the option of using many of their courses as prerequisites towards Thompson Rivers University's Masters of Business Administration. University of Calgary
Graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Technology (GNT) diploma are eligible to apply for admission into the University of Calgary's Bachelor of Science, Geomatics Engineering. If accepted, SAIT transfer students can receive up to 9 half courses (or 27 transfer credits) in advanced standing into the degree program. It is recommended that GNT graduates also take an additional statistics course, either at SAIT or through Continuing Education at the University of Calgary, before transferring to make the transition smoother. All competitive admission and selection requirements—including High School prerequisites—must be satisfied in order to be considered for admission. Updated March 5, 2019.
University of Lethbridge
Graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Technology diploma are eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Geography with a concentration in Geographical Information Science at the University of Lethbridge. Transfer students need a minimum 2.50 GPA overall to be considered for admission to the degree program; if accepted, there are two years remaining to complete the post-diploma degree pathway.
